Who's afraid of Resident Evil 6?
Horror is a 'cornerstone', says director
As someone who craves fear, I have sampled the spectrum of survival horror games - from good to bad through to downright confusing. But I've always had a special affection for the Resident Evil series, home of terrible acting, an alphabet's worth of mutagenic viruses and some incredibly atmospheric and effective horror.
Resident Evil 5 is my least favourite, due to the shift from horror and exploration to guns-blazing action. "Where are the spooky mansions and crest puzzles?" I sobbed, into my commemorative Barry Burton pillow.
So, with Resident Evil 6 on the way, I'm concerned about what kind of game it's going to be. Can we expect creeping dread or endless hot lead? I quizzed the game's director in the video above.
