Far Cry 3 Sex Scene 'Subversive' - Lead Writer

At first blush, Far Cry 3's is the shallowest of stories: on a tropical island, a young American is kidnapped with his brothers and girlfriend, escapes, then becomes a murderous badass to rescue his loved ones. Along the way, he is accepted by native warriors and fondles a topless tribeswoman (if you've been following the game in the months before launch, you may recall the scene from publisher Ubisoft's E3 presentation).

Here Far Cry 3 lead writer Jeffrey Yohalem tells us that clichés, especially the sexy ones, let Far Cry 3 "subvert what you think" and tell a coming-of-age story for today's feckless 20-somethings. At the same time, he says, his aim was a game to meet your needs, "no matter where you wanted an itch scratched".
