Far Cry 4 Is 'Packed to the Gills' With Women, Says Director
'Just like life'
Far Cry 4 is teeming with female characters, says creative director Alex Hutchinson, who tallies half of the game's main antagonists and half of the rebel fighters as ladies. For more Far Cry 4 story details, such as how Pagan Min is definitely for sure absolutely "not your father", take a watch.
Talking up Far Cry 4's lifelike sex ratio, Hutchinson says the developer "tried very hard to make sure of the four main antagonists, half of them are women, which is cool. On your side, one of the main leaders of the rebel faction is a woman, half the rebels that fight with you are women. It's packed to the gills with women. They're everywhere, just like life."
Contrary to one semi-popular theory, Hutchinson also guarantees stabby villain Pagan Min "is not your father". Where by "your" we mean "belonging to you as protagonist of Far Cry 4". He could be your father, that's none of our business. "He's someone who has a history with you," says Hutchinson.
"We didn't want a villain who's just shaking his fist at you and threatening to kill you and murder your family, and the inevitability of you shotgunning him in the face. And neither did we want someone who didn't know you at all. We wanted you to actually sort of have a secret history in this country."
