We Assault Fort Mercer At Last in Red Dead Redemption
It's the fort that counts
In this latest episode of Red Dead Redemption gameplay, we finally get to put our trojan cart plan into action and roll into Fort Mercer, all gatling guns blazing. Things don't go as smoothly as we'd hoped, though, leading to an impromptu trip to Mexico with everyone's favourite offensive national stereotype, Irish. If this is just an excuse for him to pick up some cheap bottles of tequila, we're going to be so mad, you guys.
After I lost my Red Dead Redemption saves, we resolved to reclaim my 100 percent complete status by replaying my favourite game of the last generation - whetting our appetite for Red Dead Redemption 2, which is coming out on an unspecified release date in 2017, into the bargain.
The reason for our trip to Mexico, it turns out, is that Bill Williamson, the charming fellow who shot us in the opening cutscene, and who we tried to kill by firing 6,000 bullets at Fort Mercer, has scarpered south of the border to see Javier Escuella, another member of John's old gang.
So, there's more cowboy
busywork heroics and redemption ahead, as we track Williamson and Escuella across the arid plains of Mexico. At least we get to enjoy that Jose Gonzalez song one more time.
