Show of the Week: The Surge and 5 Robots That Will Beat Your Ass in a Fist Fight

King of iron fist

The Surge is a sci-fi action role-playing game in which robots have gone rogue and started attacking humans. I don't know why anyone is surprised, in my videogame experience, robots do very little but attack humans, as Mike discovers later in the show.

Take Alisa Bosconovitch from Tekken, who seems nice enough, until she throws her exploding head at you.

Alisa was created by Tekken character Doctor Bosconovitch to look like his dead teenage daughter, which is fine and not in the bit least creepy. Unlike most teenage girls, though, Alisa has rocket boosters hidden in her back, and chainsaws for arms. We can only assume Doctor B got a bit carried away when he added those.

No less deadly is Cyrax, is one of the robot ninja jerks from Mortal Kombat, who is a great character to get into a fight with if you enjoy spending most of your time tangled up in a glowing green net or being chopped into a pile of bloody limbs.

He also dances the charleston, sometimes, which means someone has to have programmed that into him. Wish that cutscene had made it into Mortal Kombat 3.
