Show of the Week: Far Cry 5 and 5 Good Dogs Who Deserve All the Credit

Who's a good boy?

Far Cry 5 is back on our minds this week, as we talk about the elements it shares with the other Far Cries - such as outposts, vehicles and a charismatic villain. Far Cry 5 also adopts Far Cry Primal's animal companion schtick in Boomer, a trusty hound and the latest in a long line of Good Dogs in games who deserve all the credit.

Other Good Dogs of note include D-Dog of Metal Gear Solid 5 fame, who deserved several field promotions in the course of his PMC career. May we suggest, Sergeant Major D-Dog? That has a nice ring to it.

At the very least, this battlehound deserved a few medals on his collar for all the times he unsheathed his own combat knife and stabbed an enemy to death with the knife in his teeth. I don't see you doing any hands-free mouth-stabbing out there, Big Boss.

Arcade side-scroller Shadow Dancer introduced us to another adorable doggerino who is incredibly not actually named Shadow Dancer himself.

This feisty hound will savage the living heck out of the enemies of that you, the ninja protagonist, sic him on. And of course you, the ninja protagonist dog owner, will get all the credit. That's just ninjas for you.

Far Cry 5 comes out on release date 27 February 2018 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
