Show of the Week: Red Dead Redemption 2 and 5 Videogame Cowboys We Want in Our Posse
Morgan you bargained for
The recent Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer introduced Arthur Morgan, the somewhat sinister presumable protagonist of the Red Dead Redemption prequel who menaces people for money. If Dutch's gang is exclusively populated with jerks such as Arthur though, at least they have options for recruiting new blood; there are several games with excellent gunslinger characters they could bring on board, as we find in Show of the Week.
These other Wild West games have more excellent synthetic cowboys than a two-week vacation to Westworld, and they won't even develop sentience, turn on you, and gun you down where you stand.
Jesse McCree for instance is Overwatch's resident cowboy: a poncho-wearing, cigar smoking, sideburn-having slice of the old west straight out of Buffalo Bill's Wild West show. Furthermore, he has a technological advantage over other cowboys, thanks to flashbangs, a sophisticated targeting ability, and a belt buckle that says BAMF, an acronym I'm reliably informed stands for Belts Are Mighty Fine.
Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out on a "spring 2018" release date yet to be revealed.
