Apocalypse is the final DLC package of multiplayer maps for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. As is custom, it adds four new locations in which to shoot opponents to bits: Pod, a high-concept housing project gone to seed; Dig, an archaeological site; Takeoff, an offshore platform for space launches; and Frost, a snowy Amsterdam setting with a highly defensible cheese shop. Watch Mike and I play the new Black Ops 2: Apocalypse maps below the cut.
Watch Mike, Andy and me storm the subterranean cowboy zombie town of Buried, the Zombies map added by Black Ops 2's Vengeance DLC. We're all about the Mystery Box of random weapon prizes and a little bit about the Paralyzer, Buried's sci-fi supergun.
Why is Black Ops 2's third multiplayer map pack called Vengeance? For Outside Xbox, it's because our multiplayer matches proceed by one of us getting shot to bits, then being avenged by the next of us, who is in turn shot to bits and avenged by the surviving member of Clan [OX]. So goes our Black Ops 2 adventure: an unending cycle of bungled shooting and vengeance. Watch us explore Vengeance's four new maps Cove, Rush, Detour and Uplink in the video below the cut.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2's next instalment of downloadable content is Vengeance: a motley bundle of multiplayer maps and a Zombies mode outing set in a subterranean Old West town full of cowboy zombies. Where else? Point your face at gameplay from the new maps in the Vengeance trailer after the jump.
If you're one of those people who has been hammering Call of Duty Black Ops 2 multiplayer since release, the prospect of four new arenas in which to embarrass your enemies will be the main draw in the new Uprising DLC map pack. With this series of gameplay tours we dusted off our own meagre skills and headed into each map to get a feel for the layout, with a little help from YouTuber iTemp.
Mob of the Dead is Uprising's brand new zombies experience, starring Michael Madsen, Ray Liotta, Joe Pantoliano and Chazz Palminteri as 1920s gangsters fighting their way through hordes of the undead to escape from Alcatraz Island. In this gameplay video, Mike and I wander around the map's dilapidated cell blocks looking for airplane parts, becoming electric ghosts and occasionally killing zombies.
We're joined by professional YouTuber Syndicate to round up the highlights from Saturday's play at the Call of Duty championships. The competition switched to a two-tier knockout system - teams who were knocked out of the upper bracket had to fight their way up through a lower bracket to stay in the tournament. Drop out of the lower bracket and your day was done. We have all the stories for you.
Call of Duty: Blacks Ops 2's second downloadable content bundle is called Uprising. It's coming on April 16 with four new maps and a new zombie encounter called Mob of the Dead. Catch the trailer below the cut.

Inception's long, dramatic horn noise has migrated from film into games, with trailers for games as diverse as Dead Space 3, Star Wars 1313 and Modern Warfare 3 featuring the cinematic BWAAAH or electronic variations thereof. Watch on for a selection of horn-heavy trailers.
In this week's show, we hail Call of Duty: Black Ops II - a surprisingly energetic shake-up for a series still riding high in its genre. Developer Treyarch feeds a number of CoD's sacred cows into the meat grinder; multiplayer killstreaks as we knew them are out, for instance, replaced by scorestreaks, and guns, gear and perks have been pitched into a single pool of options. Help yourself to any 10, says Treyarch, and there's your new favourite loadout.
Not everyone is destined to be Lionel Messi. Some people are destined to be John Motson (or indeed Chris Kamara, for that matter). But that's no bad thing, Motson is a national treasure and has fine taste in sheepskin coats. In the same way, we're a bit bum at Call of Duty: Black Ops II multiplayer but we might have a better shot commentating. We will need the help of shoutcaster and Treyarch's eSports advisor Hastr0 though.
With Call of Duty's rise in fortunes, the Call of Duty launch event has become a bombastic November ritual - like Fireworks Night but much, much louder, as evidenced by this video in which Mike is bellowed at by legendary football pundit Chris Kamara.
When we played Black Ops II's Zombies mode recently, we spent the majority of the time on fire, being eaten by zombies, or on fire while being eaten by zombies.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II is upon us, and in its multiplayer arsenal of near-future guns are some good matches for your favourite weapons from Modern Warfare 3.
So if, like us, you fear change and want to make the transition from Modern Warfare 3 to Black Ops II multiplayer with the closest match to the ACR, SCAR-L, UMP45, MK-14, TYPE 95, STRIKER or MP7, you've come to the right video. Watch on for their nearest equivalents in Black Ops II, plus a few tips on the new attachments and wildcards.
As much as it annoys me to use the word "pillars" in this context, Zombies is now one of the "pillars" of Treyarch's Call of Duty games, going from a bonus add-on in World at War to a mode as prominent as the single player and multiplayer games in Black Ops II.
You might know Michael Rooker from his role on The Walking Dead, where he plays a dangerous racist. I don't, I remember him from Days of Thunder, where he played a dangerous racer. Oh and apparently he's in this little game called Black Ops 2, where he plays your bestest buddy Mike Harper during the missions set in 2025.
If you watched our sneak peek behind the scenes at Black Ops II Live you'll know that today from 8pm there's a four-hour Black Ops II tournament featuring celebrities and pro gamers. It's the perfect opportunity to get a headstart on map layout and work out exactly how the pros will be taking advantage of the new 'Pick 10' system that promises to revamp loadout selection in the new game.
