Why Alien: Isolation Is The Aliens Game We've All Been Waiting For

Future tense

Sega has announced a new Alien game called Alien: Isolation and, unless you're suffering from some sort of traumatic amnesia, you won't have forgotten how badly that turned out last time. Fortunately, there are many, many reasons why Alien: Isolation is going to be a much better game. Hit the jump to see the very first gameplay footage and find out why this game will make you forget Colonial Marines ever existed.

For a start, rather than spreading the smarts across hundreds of dumb aliens, Creative Assembly is creating just one, terrifyingly intelligent one. This game is based on the first Alien film, not the sequels, so you'll be being stalked by a relentless, nightmarish creature in an abandoned space station. What's more as Amanda Ripley - an engineer rather than a marine - you'll be almost completely defenceless if it spots you. This is survival horror, not Call of Duty with bugs.

For more about the game, be sure to check out this first trailer, which includes even more insight from the development team.

So what do you reckon? Has this convinced you to come back after being burned by Aliens: Colonial Marines? Let us know in the comments.
