Survival horror Outlast brings its precision scares and nerve-shredding intensity at last to Xbox One, and we dare to play it. In this first gameplay video, journalist Miles Upshur (really) arrives at Mount Massive Asylum for a good snoop around with a night vision camcorder. Why didn't he visit during daylight hours?
Outlast's camcorder gimmick and eerie, grainy night vision mode tap into the same disquieting realism as found footage horror movies. It wouldn't be half as spooky seeing Upshur sloshing around a flooded basement and being roughed up by mutilated lunatics from a remote third-person view. Speaking of mutilated lunatics:
