7 Times Games Predicted the Future With Spooky Accuracy

Every so often a game manages to predict future events with the sort of spooky, unnerving foresight that would have gotten you burned as a witch in the 16th century. Global politics, scientific breakthroughs, the results of major sporting events - discover seven times videogames predicted the future with spooky accuracy in the following video.

For years, EA Sports has been predicting the outcome of the Super Bowl game using its Madden games and doing a decent job. In 2008, for example, it was only one point off on each team's score, predicting a 28 to 24 result compared to the actual 27 to 23 scoreline.

This was impressive, but then EA's Super Bowl simulation in 2015, using its Madden 15 game, predicted the New England Patriots would defeat the Seattle Seahawks 28 to 24. Miraculously, it was absolutely correct.

Madden also predicted that Tom Brady would earn the MVP award for his performance, that the winning touchdown would be from a short range passing play to Julian Edelman and finally, ridiculously, that the Patriots would be trailing in the third quarter 14 to 24 before coming back to win.

Just think, a 100 dollar bet on those exact circumstances could have probably propped up EA's development budget for a year. Or funded a sequel to BioForge.
