Never Help Anyone, is the Message in Red Dead Redemption

Assister act

This week in Red Dead Redemption we polish off the final stranger missions, so called because you do them for strangers, and because they are usually stranger than the main missions in the game. They could equally be called 'downer missions' because the message of at least the three that we do today seems to be that helping people is for suckers and people are the worst. See for yourself in this Red Dead Redemption gameplay.

On discovering I lost my Red Dead Redemption saves, we resolved to reclaim my 100 percent complete status by replaying my favourite game of the last generation - whetting our appetite for Red Dead Redemption 2, which is coming out in Spring 2018, into the bargain.

Here's hoping Red Dead Redemption 2 has a less misanthropic view of things because after today's missions, which include domestic abuse, anticlimactic treasure hunting and people dying of exposure, we're ready for something a little lighter.
