Starlink: Battle for Atlas is an upcoming space shooter that uses character and spaceship toys that attach to your controller. Behold Starlink gameplay in which we visit the game's first planet Haven with a complement of said plastic toys. No Man's Skylanders? Find out here.

The ability to construct your spaceship from weapons and wings in the middle of gameplay is a neat twist on the 'toys to life' formula, and the prospect of a game like No Man's Sky but with a more engaging plot is definitely welcome.

But as with all these toys-to-life games there's a risk the toys will get in the way of your progress in awkward ways. Make up your own mind with this gameplay from the Xbox One version.

Starlink Battle for Atlas comes out on release date 16 October 2018 on Xbox One, PS4 and Switch.
